In my opinion, there is far too much emphasis in our industry on getting more listings, with very little fanfare into how to sell the listings you have. In the Good Old Days, perhaps this made some sense. After all, in a boom market, any listing with a pulse is guaranteed money in the bank. Or close enough, anyway.

Today? Eh, not so much. In some markets, there might be only one buyer for every ten listings, which means (according to my faulty math) that nine out of ten houses aren’t going to sell. That means nine out of ten listing agents have wasted their time, money and energy essentially disappointing nine out of ten hopeful sellers who entrusted the sale of their home to them.
